![]() Turn right onto Amiens Road and follow the signs. Visitors can take Crowchild Trail to Flanders Avenue and head east. The museum is a short drive south of downtown. The Military Museums is dedicated to representing Canada's navy, army, and air force and educating the public, particularly youth, about Canada's military. Visitors can easily spend a day or two taking in the wide variety of exhibits. The Military Museums also features the Cold War Exhibit comprised of two hangars, which house a CF-18 Hornet, a CF-104 Starfighter, and a F-86 Sabre Jet fighter, paying tribute to the Canadians who stood ready to defend Canada throughout the Cold War. In August 1942, the regiment took part in the Dieppe Raid, the first tank regiment of the Canadian. The 14th Canadian Army Tank Regiment (Calgary Regiment), was mobilized in February 1941. The Military Museums has an incredible collection of artefacts and stories spanning Canada's military history from the late 1800s through the World Wars to Afghanistan. The Military Museums in Calgary, Alberta is Western Canadas largest tri-service military history, heritage, art, research, and educational institution. This multi-faceted attraction houses four regimental museums, three branch-specific museums, an art gallery, and The Military Museums Library and Archives. The Military Museums is the second largest military museum in Canada.
